We retail from our greenhouses in Hardy, Virginia ABOUT US
Ray’s job moved to Texas in 1992, but he decided he had a better job offer from his wife and decided to help her grow the business. Two greenhouses grew to five. Their daughter Evelyn had graduated from Virginia Tech with her degree in Interior Design, married her husband Chris and moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She missed the greenhouses and Evelyn and Chris decided to come home. Five greenhouses grew to seven along with a large red storage barn. At this time in addition to our retail trade at the city market and at the greenhouses we added a wholesale herb plant business. This part of the business grew rapidly, taking our herb products from the New River Valley as far as Richmond.
Along with the growth in the number of greenhouses, Walter’s family reputation has grown for the largest variety of quality plants and has earned them a great number of loyal customers. Each member of the family has contributed their talents and hard work to back up our slogan . . . Our Business is Growing for You!

Rosalin
Walter grew up in a family greenhouse business in Ontario Canada. When her
husband Ray’s job moved their family to Roanoke in 1983, Rosalin decided to
establish a small greenhouse business of her own. Her intentions were to just
help out with college expenses for their children. She grew her first crop in
one greenhouse and sold it at the Roanoke City Market. Next year one greenhouse
grew to two.
Janet their youngest daughter graduated from Virginia Tech
with her degree in Horticulture. Seven greenhouses grew to nine. She
along with Chris can be found at the city market, with their beautiful plant
displays and friendly gardening advice.
